History is in the making over here on the American front.And I have never been so overjoyed to be right in the midst of a crazy, envigorating, liberal urban environment.
Celebrating on the streets, champage flute in hand, with the rest of my Latino neighborhood, people screaming, banging frying pans, cars and buses honking, and garbage cans being lit on fire---
Yeah, it feels good to be American today.
I'm happy I had the freedom to vote in this pivotal election and damn pleased about the results.
For me to be even be inspired by a government official's speech....now, that, is something.
I appreciate the no-bullshit, this isn't gonna be easy, to-the-point, intelligent verbiage of Obama's speech tonight. Him actually mentioning the gays warmed the cockles of my heart and instilled sincere hope in me about what kind of future this new president could bring us.....
To all those people who heard him speak tonight and are still unhappy with the results,
I feel sorry for them. It's time to grow up a little and embrace change. It's part of being a human. And boy, do we ever need a fucking change around here. It's been a LONG time coming for us Dems.
Needless to say, I'll be restin' easy tonight.
My only words to Bush besides 'good riddance' would be:
"Don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out....."
