My current philosophy is: read, read, talk, listen, read some more and absorb as much information as my sponge-like brain will allow.
So far since I've moved to NYC, I think I've learned more here than I ever did in college.
That thought really calms my nerves as I cut checks to multiple student loan agencies every month.
Besides the amazingly rich surprise I received this morning (the housekeeper bought me a bagel and cream cheese for breakfast! clearly I appreciate the little things in life), I decided what the next best surprise would be. And that is for someone to call me around the time I take my lunch hour (noon - 1 p.m.) and tell me they are outside from the MET, ready to take me to a cozy lunch on the UES and for a brief stroll in the park. If this were ever to happen, I would probably be so overjoyed, that I might even let you hold my hand.
And now that I've successfully thrown up in my mouth due to the above paragraph, I think I'm ready for lunch.
Appropriate.
This weekend I would like to do a few of the following things:
+ brunch somewhere new
+ attend a dance party
+ see that film I've already deemed stupid: Confessions of a Shopaholic
+ ride a unicorn
+ watch the Oscars intoxicated
Next week, I might try a technology purge day. As in, no phone, internet or television for 24 straight hours. I'll of course have to warn certain people ahead of time that I'm doing this, i.e. my mother and Jordon. But I project it will be a fascinating and cleansing experience.
Drink to global economics tonight. eek.
Love, me.
